What is Biodegradable Plastic Granulation Line?
PLA PBAT biodegradable plastic granulation line is a specialized machine used to process biodegradable plastic raw materials (such as resins, masterbatches, and modified materials) or recycled biodegradable plastic products. Biodegradable plastic granulator process plastics into granular products that are uniform in size, easy to transport and use, through processes such as melting, mixing, extrusion, cooling and pelletizing.

These granules serve as raw materials for downstream companies (such as injection molding, blown film, and blister packaging plants) to produce biodegradable plastic bags, tableware, agricultural films, and other products.
Characteristics of Biodegradable Plastics:
Biodegradable plastics (such as PLA, PBAT, PBS, PHA, starch-based materials, etc.) typically possess the following characteristics:

1. High thermal sensitivity: Narrow processing temperature range, prone to thermal decomposition.
2. Unique viscosity characteristics: Melt viscosity may be highly sensitive to temperature and shear.
3. Potential moisture content: Bio-based materials (such as PLA and starch) are hygroscopic, and moisture can lead to hydrolytic degradation.
4. Requires precise mixing: For blends (such as PLA/PBAT), uniform dispersion and distribution are required.
Features of Biodegradable Plastic Granulator:
1. Precise temperature control system: Employs a multi-stage heating and cooling system with high temperature control accuracy (typically ±1°C). The heating zone and screw structure are optimized to ensure uniform heating of the material and avoid localized overheating that could lead to degradation.
2. Special Screw and Barrel Design: The screw often employs a low-shear, high-mixing-efficiency design (such as a barrier screw or mixing head) to minimize shear heat and prevent molecular chain breakage while ensuring thorough plasticization. The length-to-diameter ratio (L/D) is typically large (e.g., 32:1 to 44:1) to ensure sufficient residence time for uniform plasticization and mixing.
3. Efficient Degassing and Dehydration System: A vacuum vent is located in the middle of the barrel to remove moisture and small volatile molecules generated during melting, which is crucial for ensuring particle quality.
4. High-Quality Materials and Surface Treatment: Parts in contact with the material (barrel, screw, die) are made of corrosion-resistant, highly wear-resistant special alloy steel (e.g., 38CrMoAl, nitrided).
5. Extrusion into Strips: Molten plastic is extruded from the plastic granulator head (a die with a porous template) to form multiple continuous, slender, circular strips.
6. Cooling and Shaping: The extruded, high-temperature strip is immediately guided through a long cooling water tank. In the tank, the strip is cooled and solidified by water.

7. Pelletizing: The dried strip is fed into a pelletizer, where it is cut into uniformly sized cylindrical pellets by a high-speed rotating cutter.
