BOPET Film Recycling Pelletizing Machine
Why Recycle BOPET Film?
BOPET (biaxially oriented polyester film) is a common plastic packaging material (e.g., food packaging, labels, industrial films). Recycling it not only reduces “white pollution” but also enables the reproduction of high-quality polyester (PET) flakes. These flakes can be used to manufacture fibers, sheets, packaging materials, etc., achieving “bottle-to-bottle” or “film-to-pellet” recycling.

1. Forced Feeding System:
Ensures stable and uniform feeding of loose film fragments into the extruder.
2. Single-Screw/Twin-Screw Extruder:
Single-Screw Extruder: Simple structure, low cost, suitable for relatively pure feedstock. Often equipped with a melt filtration device.
Co-Rotating Parallel Twin-Screw Extruder (more common and advanced): Offers better mixing, venting, and self-cleaning effects. A vacuum vent port can be set in the melting section to remove residual small-molecule volatiles and moisture, further purifying the melt and preventing degradation.

3. Melt Filter (Essential):
Uses an automatic backflush or manual screen changer to filter out trace impurities and carbonized particles not fully removed during cleaning, ensuring melt purity. This is key to producing high-quality recycled pellets.
4. Pelletizing Die and Cutting System:
As the melt exits the die, it is immediately cut into pellets by rotating blades underwater and conveyed/cooled by the water flow. This method produces uniform pellets, is dust-free, has high output, and is the mainstream method.

4. Centrifugal Dryer/Vibrating Screen:
Separates pellets from process water and screens out unqualified fines and agglomerates.
5. Pellet Drying/Crystallizer:
Crystallizes and dries the PET pellets to prevent clumping during subsequent storage or processing (e.g., injection molding) and to improve their heat resistance.

Key Points in BOPET Film Recycling:
1. Viscosity Drop and Degradation Control:
PET is highly prone to hydrolysis under high temperatures and moisture, and thermal degradation can occur from excessive shear heating in the screw. Therefore, the BOPET film recycling machine must ensure:
Absolutely dry feedstock.
A well-designed extruder screw (typically with a large L/D ratio, e.g., 32:1 or above) and precise temperature control.
An effective vacuum venting system.
2. High Purity Requirements:
Printing inks, adhesives, and coatings on the film are major contaminants. High-efficiency plastic washing lines and high-precision melt filtration are essential.
3. Material and Corrosion Resistance of Plastic Pelletizing Equipment:
Washing lines contact alkaline solutions, requiring materials like stainless steel for corrosion resistance.
