For materials with more impurities, the integrated two-stage laser filtration system is used, which is stable and reliable. The coarse filtration + fine filtration is completed at one time, the slag discharge efficiency is high, and the material waste is reduced to the maximum extent.

Laser filters play a vital role in plastic pelletizing line.
1. Ultra-high-precision filtration, improving product purity
Through laser filtration, plastic pellets produced are extremely pure, with impurity levels reduced to extremely low levels (e.g., ≤5 impurities/cm², or even lower).
2. Ensuring subsequent process stability and product quality
Protecting downstream equipment: In the production of high-end films (such as BOPP and CPP), fibers (such as polyester yarn), or medical plastic products, even the smallest impurities can cause film breakage during drawing and yarn breakage during spinning, resulting in significant production losses. Laser filters effectively prevent this.
Improving product appearance and performance: Filtering out impurities and gel points ensures that the final product (such as plastic bags, containers, and parts) made from plastic pellets has a smooth, flawless surface and more uniform mechanical properties.
3. Enabling continuous production
Laser filters are typically used in conjunction with an automatic screen changer. When the pressure upstream of the filter reaches a set value, the screen changer automatically and instantly moves the clean filter screen to the working position, removing the clogged filter screen. This process takes just a fraction of a second, with virtually no fluctuations in melt flow and pressure, enabling continuous, stable production without downtime, significantly improving production efficiency.
4. Suitable for the Production of High-Quality Recycled Materials
Not all recycled materials require the use of laser filters. Laser filters are primarily used in applications where extremely high impurity levels are critical, such as:
Processing recycled PET bottle flakes into rPET pellets for food-grade packaging or polyester filament.
Processing recycled HDPE (such as milk bottles) into rHDPE pellets for blow molding high-end packaging bottles.
Producing a variety of “super-clean” recycled plastics to replace some virgin materials.

Q: What level of contamination can a laser filter handle?
A: Laser filters are built for heavy-duty recycling. They can typically handle 3% to 7% contamination by weight. For context, a traditional mesh screen changer usually struggles or requires constant manual changes at anything above 1% contamination.
Q: How long does a laser filter disc last?
A: Depending on the abrasiveness of your material (e.g., sand or glass content), a disc can last anywhere from 6 months to 2 years. If you are processing clean in-house scrap, they last much longer; if you are processing unwashed agricultural film, they will wear faster.
Q: Do I need to stop the machine to clean the filter?
A: No. The system is fully automatic and self-cleaning. The scrapers rotate and the discharge screw removes waste while the extruder is running at full speed. You only stop the machine for scheduled deep maintenance or once the disc has reached its wear limit.
Q: What happens if a hard object (like a bolt) enters the filter?
A: While the system is robust, a large metal bolt can damage the scraper or score the disc. Most lines use a pre-filter (coarse breaker plate) or a magnetic separator at the hopper to catch large tramp metal before it reaches the precision-drilled laser disc.
Q. What machines do you offer?
A: We mainly produce waste plastic recycling line, waste plastic granulator machine and other auxiliary machine.
Q. How can we visit your company and machines?
A: Yes, our factory is located in Rugao City, Jiangsu Province, China. Please contact our sales specialists if you would like a tour.
Q. What is the lead time for an order?
A: The lead time depends on the complexity of the order. Standard individual machines might have a shorter lead time, while a complete, custom recycling line could take. The specific timeline is usually outlined in the contract.
Q. Do you provide after-sales service and technical support?
A: Yes, we offer after-sales support, including remote guidance, and can arrange for engineers to assist with on-site installation, commissioning, and staff training for larger projects.
