PBAT Degradable Film Recycling
In today’s world, white pollution and oil crisis are becoming more and more serious. The research and development and promotion of biodegradable polymer materials is an effective way to solve the current problems. Among many biodegradable plastics, polylactic acid (PLA) has received extensive attention because of its good biodegradability and high mechanical strength, which is derived from renewable plant resources. However, PLA has poor impact resistance and low melt strength, which are not conducive to molding and limit its application.
PBAT is a thermoplastic biodegradable plastic, which is a copolymer of butylene adipate and butylene terephthalate. It has both the characteristics of PBA and PBT, and has good ductility and elongation at break. Good heat resistance and impact properties. In addition, it also has excellent biodegradability, which is very active in the research of biodegradable plastics and one of the best biodegradable materials in the market.
PBAT material is not only biodegradable but also compostable, so the use of PBAT can combat white pollution. The biodegradable garbage bags produced by PBAT are the film materials used in the recycling of biological waste by the biocomposting garbage center. They are mainly used in: fully degradable packaging films; Fully degradable packaging bags, including shopping bags, continuous roll garbage bags, pet waste belts, electronic product packaging bags, food packaging bags, mulch, etc.,
Domestic policies continue to accelerate to promote the development of the industry. During the two sessions in 2020, deputies to the National People’s Congress called for greater efforts to promote the use of biodegradable materials to replace plastics. With the gradual formulation and implementation of the plastic ban policy in various parts of the country, under the mandatory implementation of the plastic ban policy, the irreplaceability of degradable plastics has become more prominent, and the domestic alternative space is expected to be in line with Western Europe and the United States.
The use of degradable materials does not mean that consumers can discard such products at will. Such products should be uniformly classified and recycled like traditional plastic products, and recycled and reused according to appropriate disposal methods.
Purui Machinery successfully developed and accepted the PBAT degradable film recycling granulator, using the ML100 single-screw extruder, and the pelletizing method is strand pelletizing. In the granulation process, it is necessary to prevent excessive degradation, so that the particles cannot be recycled. Therefore, when recycling PBAT biodegradable film, the temperature of each section of the extruder needs to be controlled at 140-175 °C, and the screw speed should be controlled at 100-150r /min, the speed of the pelletizer is controlled at 230-270r/min.
