How does Plastic Granulator Work?

1. Feeding: Waste plastic (such as film, bottle flakes, woven bags, etc.) or plastic raw materials are fed into the machine.

2. Heating and Melting: The extruder screw inside the machine pushes the plastic forward while the heater heats it to a molten state.

3. Extrusion: The molten plastic is extruded through the die head into strands or filaments.

4. Cooling: The extruded plastic strands are immediately cooled and solidified by a cooling system such as a water trough or water ring.

5. Pelletizing: The solidified plastic strands are cut into uniformly sized pellets by the pelletizer.

Types of Plastic Granulator:

1. Water Ring Granulator: As the molten plastic is extruded from the die, rotating blades cut it into pellets directly on the die surface. These pellets are then cooled by a water ring. The pellets produced by this method are typically round and are suitable for materials such as polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP).

2. Strand Granulation Line: The molten plastic is extruded into strands, cooled and solidified in a water trough, and then cut into cylindrical pellets by a pelletizer. This method is suitable for materials such as polyester (PET) and polyamide (PA).

3. Underwater Granulator: The molten plastic is directly cut by rotating blades underwater, where the pellets rapidly cool and solidify into spherical shapes. This method produces pellets with uniform shape and high cooling efficiency, making it a common method for producing high-quality plastic pellets.
